BerkeleyDB 4.3 was very unusable in its earlier releases, but most of this 
was fixed by 4.3.27.  4.3.29 should be okay.  The only caveat is that when 
you go to slapadd your database, you are pretty much going to always need 
to use -q if you want it to load in a reasonable amount of time.  Some of 
the options that one could use in 4.2 to improve normal slapadd's loading 
time cannot be used in 4.3.

The main thing to to make sure you have properly configured the DB_CONFIG 
file, regardless of the BDB release you use.
